The stage to decorate the finale of the 2023 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring has been decided at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul.
The League of Legends Champions Korea 안전놀이터 (hereinafter referred to as ‘LCK’), which hosts the Korean professional league of ‘League of Legends (LoL)’ e-sports, will hold the stage to determine the final winner of the 2023 LCK Spring in Songpa-gu, Seoul for two days on April 8 and 9. It will be held at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium located on 25 Olympic-ro.
It is the first time in 4 years that the LCK Spring Finals will be held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium. The Seoul Metropolitan Government supports the venue so that 20,000 esports fans can safely watch the game. The LCK cooperates with the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s priority project, the companion program ‘E-Sports Culture Tour’, and on the day of the event, creates a game promotion space and play experience booth for 10 companies participating in the Seoul Game Contents Center support project run by the city.
Seoul Metropolitan Government’s ‘E-Sports Culture Tour’ invites 100 children/adolescents from multicultural families and child welfare centers to participate in a role park tour, including e-sports job talks, backstage/stadium tours, regular league viewings, and watching the LCK finals. As a support program, it is expected to provide opportunities to explore various e-sports careers and enjoy culture to the culturally underprivileged.
In this spring playoff, as before, up to 6th place in the regular league advances to the playoffs, and 1st and 2nd place go directly to the second round. The double elimination method is applied in a situation where four teams are set, and the winning team in the final match on the 8th advances to the final match on the 9th.
Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium is a place with a deep relationship with the LCK. In the 2016 LCK Summer Finals, ROX Tigers defeated KT Rolster after a close match to win their first championship, and in the 2019 LCK Spring Finals, SK Telecom T1 defeated Griffin and lifted the trophy.
Seoul City is also showing its will to promote the development of the game industry and e-sports through the LCK Spring Finals.
Kim Tae-gyun, head of the Seoul Economic Policy Office, said, “By co-hosting the LCK Spring Finals, the most popular league in Korea, small and medium-sized game developers will be given opportunities to promote to 20,000 spectators and viewers around the world. “We will start the ‘tour companion business’,” he said. “We will strengthen investment and support in nurturing future talents in e-sports and fostering small and medium-sized game companies in order to revitalize the game industry and e-sports, which are the next-generation core cultural businesses.
” We have to proceed with the finals on the 8th and the finals on the 9th, and in the process of securing a venue with a sense of scale so that many fans can visit, the city of Seoul helped a lot, so we can hold it at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium.” “As we have secured a large stadium in a while, we will create a great stage that can satisfy the fans.” Meanwhile
, the 2023 LCK Spring has almost finished the regular league schedule. T1 has confirmed first place in the regular league, and the 2nd round of the playoffs Dplus Kia, Gen.G, and KT Rolster are competing for the second place with direct tickets.
The top 6 teams in the regular league will participate in the playoffs, and from the 2nd round, the double elimination system will be held. Tickets for the playoffs are 25,000 won and can be purchased through Interpark 48 hours before each game. To prevent scalping, tickets purchased directly on site must be received, and identity verification procedures are required when issuing tickets and entering the stadium for the first time. In addition, to prevent unfair ticket transfer transactions, once canceled tickets will be operated so that they can be repurchased at any time.
Ticket sales for the final match and the final match to be held at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium will be announced at a later date. More details can be found on the Interpark LCK ticket sales page
