China Lim Hyo-jun World Cup again gold… Candidate for World Championship

Winter Olympics gold medalist Lim Hyo-jun (26) achieved consecutive wins in a single event organized by the International Skating Union (ISU) for the first time since his debut as a Chinese national short track team.

Lim Hyo-jun finished the 2022-23 6th Short Track World Cup individual event in Dordrecht, the Netherlands on the 13th (Korean time) with a gold medal in the men’s 500m.

He kept his top spot in the 5th competition. It is the first time in four years since the 2018-19 season that two or more 500m gold medals have been won in the World Cup series.

Lim Hyo-joon’s main short track event was considered to be 1500m, which he won at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics and the 2018-19 World Championships. However, after giving up his Korean citizenship in June 2020 and 바카라사이트becoming a naturalized Chinese citizen, changes are being perceived.

Hyo-Jun Lim officially became the Chinese national short track team last year, as he was blocked by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) rule that “you can only represent another country after three years of participating in world federation-sanctioned/sponsored competitions for each event.”

Lim Hyo-Jun this season is losing his stamina, probably because he has not completely shaken off the aftermath of not being able to participate in ISU-sponsored competitions. His World Cup series 1500m performance is also the best with 16th place in the 3rd event.

After the end of the first half, the Chinese portal site ‘Wangyi’ said in its own article, “I get very tired every time I play because of the lack of practical experience that has been going on for a long time.”

The coaching staff of the Chinese national team also positively viewed the first half of the 2022-23 short track, saying, “The basic skills to become a trump card, and furthermore, a sure ace, are intact.” Lim Hyo-jun rewarded with a consecutive gold medal in the 500m in the second half.

This season’s short track World Cup series concluded with the 6th event. On March 10-12, the World Championships will be held in Seoul, South Korea.

As Lim Hyo-jun revived, the World Championships to visit Korea received even greater attention. The 500m, which won twice in the 2022-23 World Cup series, is a bronze medal winning event at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics.

In the short track World Cup 500m career, he won 5 gold and 2 silver 7 times. It is also noteworthy that this season, Koreans are not in the top 4 of the world rankings. It is an advantageous situation for Lim Hyo-jun to aim for the world championship.
