‘LPBA Queen’ Kim Ga-young led her team to a come-from-behind victory with six doubles points and seven singles points.
Hanakad rallied to beat Eswai 4-2 (9-11, 9-8, 12-15, 9-5, 11-6, 9-5) in the third round of the Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League 2023-24 at the Kintex PBA Stadium in Goyang, South Korea on April 15.
With two wins in the third round, Hanakkad moved into a tie for second place with NHK with five points. In the overall regular season, they are tied for fourth place with 8 wins, 10 losses and 24 points.메이저놀이터
The first set set the tone for Eswai. Sanchez, who played alongside Lee Young-hoon in the men’s doubles, scored five long points in the first inning of the first set to take the lead. While Nguyen and Shin were held to two points in the third game, Sanchez came back with another high-run five points to quickly create match point. Hanakad closed to within one point in the eighth, but Lee Young-hoon scored the final point to end the first set.
However, the key player of the day was “Empress” Kim Ga-young. Kim was paired with Ayako Sakai, the winner of the previous individual event (Eswai Championship), for the two-set women’s doubles.
In the third game, Han Ji-Eun and Han Seul-Ki threatened Hanakkad with a quick 8-0 run to create a match point, but Kim quickly responded with a high-scoring six-point run. With Han Ji-Eun and Han Seul-Gi unable to get the last point, Kim scored the remaining three points in a row to complete the match.
In the third set, Chocloo threatened Sanchez with five kills in seven innings. Trailing 7-12, Sanchez came alive in the seventh, scoring eight unanswered points, including a bank shot, to take a 15-12 lead.
However, Eswai’s victory ended in the third set. The pair of Kim Byung-ho and Kim Jin-ah then took down Hwang Duk-hee and Lee Woo-kyung 9-5, before Nguyen Quoc Nguyen rallied back to beat Park In-soo 11-6.
The hero was Kim Ga-young, who came back to win the sixth set. Against Han Ji-eun, Kim scored a high run of seven points in the second inning. The match ended quickly, with Han taking the match in four innings, 9-5.
Elsewhere, Crown Hae-tae defeated Welcome Savings Bank 4-2 in straight sets, and Hi-One Resort beat SK Rent-a-Car 4-1. The NHL Card earned two points with a hard-fought full-set victory over Blue One Resort.
Day 3 of the PBA Team League will begin at 11 a.m. with Huon’s-SK Rent-a-Car, followed by Welcome Savings Bank-Eswai at 2 p.m., Haiwon Resort-NH Nonghyup Card at 5 p.m., and Hana Card-Blue One Resort at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Crown Hae-tae will take a day off.
