Korea’s leading female figure skating ‘figure general’ Kim Ye-rim (Dankook University) ranked third in the women’s single short program, raising her chances of winning a medal.
Kim Ye-rim took third place in the women’s singles short program at the 31st 2023 Winter World University Games (Winter Universiade) held at the Lake Placid Olympic Center 1980 Link on the 15th (Korean time).
Kim Ye-rim received a total of 73.73 points with a TES (Technical Score) of 40.21 and a PSC (Artistic Score) of 33.52 points, placing third behind Kaori Sakamoto (78.40 points) and Mai Mihara (75.60 points, Japan).

She performed a triple lutz-triple toe loop combination jump and a clean double axel, followed by a flying camel spin at level 4, the highest level of difficulty.
Kim Ye-rim, who also performed the triple flip, the first jump task in the second half, without mistakes, received a level 4 in all of the step sequence, change foot combination spin, and sit spin.
Meanwhile, Dabin Choi (Graduate School of Korea University), who participated together, ranked 6th with 31.40 points in TES, 27.73 points in PCS, and 59.13 points in total.
Kim Ye-rim aims to win her medal by participating in the free skating event on the 16th.
