‘They sold me on it’ The Oakland Athletics, who are on the verge of relocating, have another future superstar on their hands.스포츠토토
The latest is Utah infielder Zack Geloff, 24, who was called up to the majors in July after a strong showing at Triple-A.
Through 24 games, Geloff was batting .295 with nine home runs, 17 doubles, 23 RBIs, 39 runs scored, a .363 OPS and a .961 slugging percentage.
After a relatively mediocre showing last month with an OPS of 0.774 following his major league call-up, he’s been on a tear this month.
Most notably, he had his first four-hit game and multi-homer game in his major league debut on April 14 against the Washington Nationals.
Gelbrecht declined to be drafted in the 38th round by the Cleveland Cavaliers (then Indians) in 2018 to attend college. He was later selected in the second round by Oakland in 2021.
Since then, he has performed better in Triple-A than in Single-A and Double-A, and his rise to the majors has been faster than expected.
When he was drafted, he wasn’t expected to hit many home runs, but less than 50 games into his major league career, he’s one away from double-digit home runs.
Oakland had already given away a number of superstars to other teams. As such, there is some speculation that Gelbrecht will be traded for a hefty price tag.
However, the A’s need a superstar to help them settle in after the move. It will be interesting to see if Oakland decides to make Gelov their new future.
