Brogdon is injured.
The Athletic reported on the Boston Celtics’ Malcolm Brogdon on Friday (Nov. 25).토토사이트
Malcolm Brogdon was acquired by the Celtics in a trade prior to this season. Expectations were high for Brogdon, who averaged nearly 20 points per game in Indiana and was a key part of the team’s offense.
Though he was criticized for not being able to play the sixth man, the change in role took the pressure off him and he played 67 games, the most since his rookie season, averaging 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists. Earning his first Sixth Man of the Year award, Brogdon helped build a solid core for title contender Boston.
In the playoffs, Brockdan was still contributing to the team in small ways. However, in the Conference Finals, Brodan’s presence diminished dramatically. Through four games, Brogdon’s Conference Finals numbers are averaging just 8.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists on 35.3% shooting from the field and 21.4% from three.
The problem was injuries. According to The Athletic, Brogdon suffered a partial tear of the tendon that runs from his right elbow to his forearm during Game 1. While he’s pushing to play, he’s not at full strength.
As a result, Brockden had an uncharacteristic slump, scoring just 0 points in Game 3 and 2 points in Game 4. After playing 37 minutes in Game 1, his minutes have dropped considerably. In Game 4, he played just 17 minutes, his lowest total of the playoffs.
For a team that doesn’t have a lot of rotation depth, Brogdon’s injury is particularly painful. Game 5 between the two teams will take place on June 26 at TD Garden in Boston. The Celtics are now 1-3 in the series and in danger of elimination.
