SSG Landers veteran Park Jong-hoon moves to the bullpen.
SSG will play the first game of the weekend series against the KT Wiz at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on April 8.
Prior to the briefing, SSG announced that pitcher Park Jong-hoo and outfielder Choi Sang-min would be enrolled in the first team. Instead, pitcher Seo Dong-min and outfielder Kim Jung-min were expunged.
SSG manager Kim Won-hyung said before the game, “There was a lot of fatigue in the bullpen. We’re going to drop Seo Dong-min and add Park Jong-hoon, who can still throw medium to long pitches, because his speed is more valuable than Kim Jung-min’s,” Kim explained. “Today, I want (starter) Moon Seung-won to throw a little longer, and I want the batters to score a lot of runs,” he laughed.메이저놀이터
On Park Jong-hoon in particular, he said, “It’s not like he’s not going to start the rest of the season. There are doubleheaders and back-to-back games,” he said, adding, “We need a pitcher who can pitch multiple innings because the bullpen is too tough. I hope Jong-hoon can control himself and do a good job instead of arguing about this and that.”
“Is there any more place to fall? I’ve been sworn at seven times now, so how about some more swearing. If he does well, I’ll thank him, and if he doesn’t, he’ll swear with me. I want you to throw it with as little pressure as possible. How you feel is the most important thing. It’s not just about baseball this year. It’s not like we’re taking it easy or slacking off. The veterans are struggling, the young guys are inexperienced, and there’s a reason for that. It’s a tough time for everybody. I want everyone to focus on what they need to do.”
“At the end of the day, the only way to change the atmosphere is to win. Only then will the atmosphere change. Even if you’re doing well, if you’re not doing well, you’re going to sag. A win right now, one win, is very important,” he encouraged the team.
“Jong-hoon is a pitcher who has always worked hard and prepared well. But he’s a professional, and you have to show it on the field to get the fans to applaud you, or you get criticized. We’ll see how he throws in the middle, and we have a doubleheader, so we’ll see what happens.”
