At the top of the list is Romelu Lukaku (Inter Milan). Lukaku has changed clubs seven times, racking up a transfer fee of €333.4 million ($472.6 billion).
Lukaku’s career hasn’t lived up to his price tag. While he has had some success, he has also been plagued by poor performances, feuds, and injuries. After failing at Chelsea, he moved to Inter Milan, where he never quite returned to form.
Furthermore, Lukaku is not the only player in the top 10 all-time transfer fees. Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain), the most expensive player of all time at €222 million, has been crippled by frequent injuries.
Alvaro Morata (Atletico Madrid), Philippe Coutinho (Aston Villa), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), and Ousmane Dembele (FC Barcelona) have not been immune from betting controversies.
